O is for Obsession
The Eagle Who Wanted Everything
An eagle owns the whole mountain and will not share a crumb of it. Six short scenes: what he says, and what happens next.
What happens in it
There is nothing to dodge and nothing to catch. You listen, then you choose what the eagle says — and the story plays out the way you chose.
Choose what he says
Each level has two scenes. In the first, someone asks him for something and you pick one of two answers: the red one keeps all the power, the green one shares it.
Nothing is timed, and there is no going back — the second scene shows what your answer led to, and then you choose once more.
The bar at the top is Obsession with power. It rises when he keeps the power and falls when he shares it.
Tap a button, or use the left and right arrow keys.

Why obsession is one of the twenty-six
Sing Me a Fable is an alphabet of faults, one for every letter, from Aggression to Zealotry. O is obsession, and this is the playable half of that fable: the child makes the choice the animal makes, and watches what it costs. Nobody explains the moral afterwards, which is the whole point of a fable and the reason the form has lasted two and a half thousand years.
Every letter has one: twenty-six fables, twenty-six faults, twenty-six games. See the whole arcade, or take the twenty-six colouring posters and Find the Error sheets free.
